Terms of Use
VERA testnet coins have no monetary value. They cannot be bought, sold or redeemed, and balances may be reset at any time. Nothing on this site is an offer of tokens or investment advice.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to the website verachain.cloud and its subdomains, and to the public services we run for the VERA SmartChain testnet: the RPC endpoint, the explorer, the faucet, the documentation and the VERA Player ("the services"). "Vera Protocol", "we" and "us" refer to the team that operates them. By using the services you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
2. Testnet only
- No monetary value: VERA testnet coins exist only for testing. We do not sell them, and no one is authorised to sell them on our behalf.
- Resets: the network, its accounts, balances, contracts and history may be changed, reset or deleted without notice.
- Experimental: features are under active development and may change, stop working or be removed at any time.
3. No financial advice and no offer
Content on the services, including benchmarks, roadmaps and documentation, is technical information. It is not financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and it is not an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any token or security. A future main network, if launched, will have its own terms.
4. Your wallet, your keys
- Wallets are self-custodial. You alone control your private keys and recovery phrase, and you are responsible for keeping them safe.
- We will never ask for your recovery phrase or private key. Anyone who does is attempting fraud.
- Transactions on VERA SmartChain are public and permanent. Do not put personal or confidential data in transactions.
5. Open-source software
The VERA node software and its source code are published on GitHub under the Apache License 2.0. That license governs your use of the software. These terms govern the website and the hosted services.
6. Acceptable use
When using the services you agree not to:
- attack, overload or disrupt the network, the RPC endpoint, the faucet or the website, or try to get around their rate limits;
- automate faucet requests or collect test coins on a large scale;
- exploit a vulnerability instead of reporting it;
- use the services to break the law or to infringe the rights of others;
- pretend to be Vera Protocol, VERA SmartChain, its team or its services.
We may limit, suspend or block access to the services to protect them and their users.
7. Security reports
If you find a vulnerability, please report it privately to security@verachain.cloud and give us reasonable time to fix it before disclosing it.
8. Third-party services
The services link to or work with services we do not control, such as wallet extensions (for example MetaMask), GitHub, X and Google Fonts. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to them.
9. No warranty
The services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vera Protocol and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, test coins, profits or opportunities, arising from the use of or inability to use the services.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top of this page shows the latest version. Continuing to use the services after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Any dispute will be settled by the competent courts of Brazil, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights that apply where you live. If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest remains in effect.
